Guitar and Backing Vocals

Hippietim began his musical journey learning the classic rock of the 60's and 70's - Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Robin Trower. He nearly missed the 80's but ran into Johnny "Rat" and began playing 80's metal (yes, even hair metal - sorry). He played in several Washington DC area bands throughout the 80's. The 90's rolled around and Tim was completely disinterested in grunge music so he put down the guitar and played bass in various metal bands and a few bizarre rock projects.

Once the 2000's came around Tim once again got the urge to pursue guitar playing again. Living in Seattle at the time, Tim dusted off the cobwebs and began played in several groups in the Puget Sound area.

In 2004, Tim and his family relocated back east to the RDU area and he founded Mopping Janet where he met a number of players destined to be in Laughing Through Your Fingers. Tim is also a regular player at a number of open jams so you never know when you might catch him.
